Novo Nordisk is a world leader in combining protein research with the development of new delivery systems. In 1985, we launched the pioneering NovoPen® insulin pen device, which was an immediate success. The NovoPen® set a new standard in safe, reliable and effective protein delivery in a subtle and discreet device.
Since then, Novo Nordisk has developed more than 20 injection systems including durable, pre-filled and cartridges and we have continued to build upon our expertise in developing innovative protein delivery devices that meet user safety and convenience needs.
Novo Nordisk is committed to continuing a user-focused approach and to making a difference in the lives of people relying on our products. Not only by engineering proteins into safe and effective therapies, but also by developing new and improved delivery systems for those proteins. We take this perspective into account from the outset, so that the protein can be optimally developed for convenient administration. Hence, we undertake parallel development of proteins and dedicated delivery systems.
Our leadership in user-friendly delivery systems continues as we explore new concepts for protein delivery. An array of innovative successors are in place for currently available products. Novo Nordisk is responsive to new user preferences or market dynamics and we maintain our leading market position. Furthermore, we pursue exploratory research into new forms of protein delivery that will further address user convenience issues in order to enhance the safe and effective use of our products and, thereby, improve the likelihood of better therapeutic outcomes.
