Novo Nordisk is developing oral insulin to improve the convenience of the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes and consequently promote compliance.
Novo Nordisk has developed an insulin analogue that has been designed to address some of the key challenges relating to oral insulin delivery. Furthermore, Novo Nordisk has established a partnership with Merrion Pharmaceuticals, who have developed a formulation technology facilitating insulin absorption from the gut.
