Semaglutide

Semaglutide (NN9535) is a once weekly human GLP-1 analogue, which is being developed by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Semaglutide lowers blood glucose through stimulating release of insulin, and additionally lowers body weight.
The phase 2 programme including more than 400 people was completed in 2009.
